Our initiatives connect members of our community to each other, and to their art form. We also provide resources and support to uplift the community surrounding the artist.

Town Halls

In our 2023 “Let's Talk” series, we held three Town Halls with critics, reviewers, editors and artists on the topic of Critical Review in the Arts. Town Halls at our partner organisations in Melbourne and Sydney featured panellists including Artistic Directors, journalists, and independent producers.

With the purpose of uplifting the expectation of fair and considered reviews, and to hold each other accountable for the impact to the community and the sector, our Roundtables create space for community members, artists, producers and casting agents to open honest conversations, share concerns and challenges, and reach actionable solutions.

Picnics

Since 2018, Stage A Change has sponsored Diversity in Theatre gatherings for artists of colour, and those who support them. The goal of these events is to create a supported space for artists of colour to be nourished through networking. These opportunities provide affinity spaces for artists who are rarely in spaces that are curated intentionally for them.

Community Conversations

Stage A Change frequently offers panel discussions, online salons, and gatherings for artists, and community and free or highly subsidized costs. These session are an opportunity for community to share their feedback, wins, challenges and articulate anticipated needs for support.
